LEVELS OF CARE
Different patients require different levels of care. We respond by offering the category of care that meets the individual patient’s needs. In the location that is most appropriate and comfortable. These categories of care include:
Routine Home Hospice Care
Inpatient Hospice Care
If pain or symptoms cannot be controlled at home, the patient might be taken to a hospital or other inpatient care center. When the symptoms are under control, the patient can return.
Respite Care
Many patients have their own caregivers, often family members. When caregivers need a rest from their caregiving responsibilities, patients can stay in a hospital or other inpatient care center.
Continuous Hospice Care
Sometimes a patient has a medical crisis that needs close medical attention. When this happens, St. Marie’s Hospice staff can provide around-the-clock care in the home.
VOLUNTEER
St. Marie’s strives to provide excellence in end-of-life care for patients and families. All our volunteers are given careful training by a team of hospice professionals. This orientation happens either in-person or via an interactive online learning format at your convenience St. has developed several specialty roles, which allow volunteers to utilize their own strengths and interests. This offers a more meaningful and rewarding volunteer experience and enhances the quality of life for our patients and families. Have a special skill?
